Meet the Leaders of the Gem Tones

Meet the team who will bring music to OPAL with the Gem Tones community choir.


Claire

Claire Savin (choir director & conductor ) teaches music at Harrison Elementary here in Cottage Grove. She and her family moved to this area in 2011. Claire is active in the community; she plays regularly with the ukulele club that meets at the CG library on Tuesdays, and volunteers in multiple capacities around town.


Evan

Evan Barrett (choir accompanist ) is a musician and performing artist from Montana. After graduating from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, he enjoyed working as a pianist and actor for several years before moving to Cottage Grove. He has played piano and trumpet in the orchestra pits of musicals, and looks forward to many more evenings as a choral accompanist with the Gem Tones.

The "Gem Tones" is a community choir designed for seniors, but open to all. We sing, laugh, and build community. No audition or experience necessary—just a love of music and a desire to belong. It's free to join!

Rehearsals start September 8th at OPAL.
