• This book is a Cottage Grove anthology of short stories, poems, and essays. It’s been put together by the Cottage Grove Harpies, a local creative writing group. The book’s title is drawn from Opal Whitely’s often quoted statement, “And this I have learned, grown-ups do not know the language of shadows.”
• Authors are Cottage Grove residents, with a few from other parts of South Lane County
