A Special Screening: Beyond this Place
About
OPAL is excited to present this film in it's first US screening since it's original release in 2010. The film was shot in and around the Pacific Northwest and explores the delicate relationship between a son and a father reunited after many years of estrangement by curiosity, hope for reconciliation, and a shared passion for cycling. Assistant Director, Jeremy Roth, who also happens to be a first cousin of the Director, will host the screening with a brief introduction to the film and an informal Q&A afterwards.

BEYOND THIS PLACE
A film by Kaleo La Belle
Cloud Rock LaBelle has been stoned for the last 40 years. Psychedelic drugs and absolute freedom are, for him, religious beliefs. Long estranged from his son Kaleo, the two men reconnect for a grueling 500-mile bike tour across the Pacific Northwest. Can a son forgive a father who’s not asking for forgiveness?
Original score by Sufjan Stevens and Raymond Raposa.
