If you love being on stage in front of an audience, have we got a class for you! Or, if you’re a little uncomfortable in front of a group and would like to feel more relaxed, have we got a class for you! Seriously. And it’s the same class.
Opal Center is bringing Howard and Andrea Hummel back for a 6-week class in Improvisational Theater. The class will be 6 to 8 pm July 7, 14, 21, 28 and August 4 and 11.
For those not familiar with Improv, think “Whose Line is it, Anyway?” Of course that’s edited, but that’s the general idea. Players are given a situation, a character or a prop and asked to create a short scene, usually comic.
The class will be geared for beginners, but if it’s been a while since you’ve practiced your improv skills, this might work for you, too. It will cover basic improv rules and games and progress through some creative twists on old, familiar games. Participants will need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
The class will conclude with a show for friends and family.
Class size is limited to 14 students, so register soon to be guaranteed a spot.
